SINGER^® standard warranty

Singer quality products have a standard warranty

according to the following table

Singer mechanical sewing machines    2 year
Singer overlock sewing machines         2 year
Singer computer machines                    2 years
Singer ironing presses                           1 years

This warranty covers defective material or workmanship. Your Singer machine will be repaired free of charge or exchanged at the option of the distributor of Singer product in the UK and the Republic of Ireland, Channel Island and Isle of Man.

During the warranty period return the product to the retailer from whom you made the original purchase, or take it to your nearest Singer Regional Service Centre together with your receipt or other proof of date of purchase.

If you are unable to do this you may take the product to your nearest Singer Exclusive Dealer in which case you may be responsible for its return carriage to the nearest Singer Regional Service Centre. Should you experience difficulty in finding your Exclusive Dealer please telephone Singer Customer Services on (020) 7336 7986.

Please ensure that the product is returned in it original packaging or in a functional equivalent to eliminate damage in transit
The above Warranty applies to all Singer consumer products with the following exceptions:

This Warranty does NOT apply:
(a) To ironing presses or irons used in industrial or semi industrial situations such as guest houses, hotels, schools, restaurants, nursing homes etc.
(b) If the product is serviced other than by a Singer authorised engineer or fitted with other than Singer approved parts.
(c) To parts requiring replacement due to normal wear or to faults caused by negligent or other incorrect use in accordance with recommendations given in the instruction book.
(d) If the machine is used on any supply circuit or voltage range other than that shown on the rating plate on the product and/or motor.
(e) If the machine is used for profit or trade or in other than normal domestic circumstances.
(f) If the plug has not been fitted and fused in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.
(g) To any needles or light bulbs.
(h) To any transportation charges.
(i) If bought us a second hand product.
(j) To adjustments and maintenance which are the customers responsibility.

This Warranty is given by the Singer distributor, Bogod & Company Ltd. 50-52 Great Sutton street, London EC1V 0DJ. This Warranty does not affect the customers statutory rights.

The original Receipt or other proof of date of purchase must be presented to obtain the benefits of this Warranty.

The quality of Singer products is well known, after oil we hove been manufacturing sewing machines for over 150 years. But even the most reliable products sometimes go wrong, which is why all reputable manufacturers offer a warranty to their customers in addition to their statutory rights. Now for a modest fee you con protect yourself with SINGER Extended Warranty against the cost of an expensive repair for up to five year. Singer is distributed by First domestic Suppliers, a division of Bogod & Company Limited ("the Company"0 - part of the Bogod group plc which has over 100 years experience in sewing machines.

What is covered with SINGER Extended Warranty?
Every new Singer sewing machine and overlocker is sold with a Singer standard warranty for parts and labour charges as detailed in the Singer Standard warranty from included in this leaflet. This means that during thou period you are automatically covered for all parts and labour. SINGER Extended Warranty extends your warranty to 5 years. If the repair charge exceeds the market value the Company may replace your machine with a similar one of equivalent value.

What is not covered?
Very little. Naturally SINGER Extended Warranty excludes willful damage, repairs caused by misuse or repairs made by necessary by commercial use of the machine. Also "consumable items" such as bells, bulbs, and needles are not covered neither are any adjustments and maintenance that are the customers responsibility as covered by the User's Guide. SINGER Extended Warranty is valid in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man.

How do I obtain SINGER Extended Warranty?
Simply complete the application form and forward this together with your cheque to: Bogod & Company Ltd. 50-52 Great Sutton street, London EC1V 0DJ. Your certificate will normally be sent to you within 28 days.

How do I claim on SINGER Extended Warranty?
After payment of the fee you will receive a SINGER Extended Warranty certificate, In the event of a breakdown take your machine together with this certificate to your nearest Singer dealer from whom you purchased your product or your nearest Singer Regional Service Centre. The full cost of the repair will be covered by SINGER Extended Warranty and will be charged direct to the Company. Only consumable items which are not covered (see below) will be charged to you. A list of Singer Regional Services Centres is included with this leaflet. Alternatively, you can take it to your nearest Singer Exclusive Dealer, details of which ca be obtained from the Customer Services Department/. Telephone (020) 7336 7986. In this case you may charged for carriage to and from the nearest Singer Regional Services Centre.

Can SINGER Extended Warranty be renewed?
YES. Towards the end of your extended guarantee period you will normally be sent a renewal form inviting you to continue your cover for a further year.

Can SINGER Extended Warranty be transferred?
YES. As SINGER Extended Warranty relates to a particular machine or appliance, should you decide to sell the item concerned, the person who buys can benefit from any period of outstanding cover. Simply return your certificate to us with the name address and telephone number of the person who has purchased your machine and we will validate it for the new details and return it to the new owner.
