Hobbs Heirloom cotton batting or sometimes called wadding was created at the request of Harriet Hargrave to meet the needs of quilters.
It is the only unbleached cotton wadding that is easy to quilt by hand or machine and can be quilted up to 4” apart. Heirloom cotton wadding shrinks 3-5%, and can be preshrunk to minimize undesired shrinkage. It is very clean cotton mixed with 20% polyester, lightly needlepunched and lightly resonated. This product has more loft than the typical cotton wadding, which gives more definition to the stitch than other 100% cottons.

Bonded wadding utilising slick/hollow fibres which make it washable.
100%polyester is soft to the hand, easy to quilt and fibre migration is low.
Polyester will not shrink and is well suited to projects that will be washed regularly.

Super-Soft Cotton Blend Wadding by the Metre

Super-Soft Cotton Blend wadding/batting are needle-punched for extra stability and to reduce bearding and migration.
Cotton/Poly Blend - an 80/20 blend that gives excellent results for both hand and machine quilting. Stitch up to 10" apart.
May be washed before use, shrinkage is less than 5%.
Washing after quilting will give the perfect traditional, antique wrinkled look.
It is 210cm (82") wide and is sold/priced per Metre
