After much deliberation I decided to buy this Singer to replace a much loved and much used old 1956 model 201K and am very pleased with it. It feels solid and super easy to thread, yet very quiet, and with the walking foot attachment solves a lot of issues I’d had sewing layers. Makes better straight seams, and with optional stitches, it’s a great workhorse machine. I love it- my old one will be purely decorative now!

Having broken the wife's old singer making something in leather, I had to replace it and ordered a 5523 heavy duty singer. ordered on thursday pm and arrived sat am.superb. Machine does everything I expected efficiently and quietly. bobbin fit is improved and threading now very easy. watch out for the foot pedal as very touchy if you want a slow feed in. Good product, brilliant service, 5 stars.

The basics are fairly easy to pick up. It's taking me a little while to feel comfortable and learn what this machine can do but I'm happy with the machine and glad I've bought it.

I'm loving my new Singer 5523. For many years before this, I had an old sewing machine that had been handed down to me. Sewing on that was so hard. It caused me to give up sewing for years because everything was so frustrating & took so long & I thought it was me being bad at sewing. THEN I took the plunger & ordered a new Singer 5523!! Wow, I'm actually able to sew & enjoy the process!! The projects are flying off the machine!! It's sturdy, powerful yet quiet, easy to thread (esp with the automatic needle threader) & intuitive to use. My favourite part is how little pressure you need to put on the fabric to to guide it. The feed dogs feed it so effortlessly. You can basically do a straight line of sewing whilst barely touching the fabric! I'd definitely recommend this machine. I still class myself as a beginner & it's great for beginners. I'm sure I'm going to use more & more of its setting as I progress. Also, the speed at which it was delivered to me was brilliant. I ordered one afternoon & it was with me by the following lunch time. Plus I got a free sewing kit & good quality machine bag which is very useful. All in all I'm exceedingly pleased with my new purchase & am very happy to highly recommend, not only this sewing machine but the www.singermachines.co.uk website. It's a 5 star review from me ☆☆☆☆☆

I'm getting used to the Singer 4423. It's a reasonably straight forward machine which is just as well as I'm not very techy. I've nearly finished a small quilt for a teddy bear and quilting through 4 layers of fabric has been a breeze. One small niggle is the shortness of the cable that goes from the machine to the foot pedal. It barely reaches the floor and rather than feeding it over the back of my table, I have to have it stretching past my right arm and down to the floor. It's in the way. Apart from that, I'm satisfied with my purchase.

I thought my wife would have liked an automatic bobbin thread winder, but she finds access to the bobbin is good, and is easy to remove and replace. Unlike my previous machine which was very awkward.

Solid machine. Copes well with a range of fabrics from very thick to fine. Is quite noisy when you are speeding along but you don't need ear defenders ????. I do sometimes get irritated that the thread comes out if I haven't put the needle into the upright position, but the little needle threader eases the pain. ???? I have managed to break 4 needles so far but have been using it for a number of hours a day and have been sewing in metal fixings onto bags, so not surprising really. Am enjoying using it. Would recommend.

Just bought my 3rd Singer sewing machine (over 40years) my old one gone to my daughter. So much more versatile cannot wait to try out the patchwork. So helpful over the years when needed accessories which fitted my old sewing machine. Thank you for all you patience and expert advice

It arrived exactly as expected, and was well packaged. I have learnt how to thread the machine and have done a little sewing, but haven’t started my main reason for buying this machine , mainly because I do my sewing in our conservatory and it’s too cold at the moment. It will do everything I’ve ever wanted to do. It’s not heavy to carry around, the extension table is fantastic and I love the stop/start button and the storage case is great . I did struggle for a while with the automatic needle threader , but I think I’ve mastered it now. It is very quiet as well, overall I love it .
