Singer Tradition 2263 Sewing Machine
**PRE-ORDER NOW - EXPECTED MID NOVEMBER** FREE Scissors Set + 10 Year Warranty & FREE Delivery
The Tradition range of Singer sewing machines are as the name suggests; are more of a conventional shape with strong mechanical internals. The 2263 model uses an aluminium chassis as a reliable and trouble-free platform to build upon.
This is the Singer 2263 Tradition and it features 23 stitches, which include utility, decorative, home decor, dressmaking and repair stitches. For example, as well as stretch overlock stitch, it has a straight stretch. The machine sews two stitches forward and one stitch backwards hence it can be used for top stitching, a very strong seam repair or used to sew modern stretch materials together. The stitch will stretch with the material as it is sewn.
Button holes are the 4 step type which are sewn using the special sliding presser foot, which is included. Often this type of buttonhole is quicker to set up and start sewing buttonholes on garments. It is simple...turn the dial in the sequence as shown on the images 1, 2, 3 and 4 finishes the buttonhole bartack.
It is suited to anyone who wants to enjoy creative sewing and needs the option of doing buttonholes if needed. The Singer 2263 weighs in at only 8.5Kg, so is very transportable using the large lift up handle located at the rear.
Pattern width and length can be set to 5mm and 4mm respectively.
The Singer 2263 uses the front loading bobbin as used on many of the traditional sewing machines of the past. This type of hook and bobbin system is called the 15K type. I'm sure you will have heard of this at some stage. It is a reliable and well-proven system and gives a good solid lockstitch to any seam.
Other features we like is the reverse lever location, which is just above the needle. Push down to reverse is far superior than the push rearward button, which often rocks the machine, as the reverse button is pressed. Not the case when using the Singer Tradition 2263. Three needle positions for accurate seams and neater zip insertion.
Although it can sew at speeds up to 800 spm, the speed is electronically controlled by using the foot pedal. This special foot control allows full power to the motor, even at a slow controllable speed.
We have the full selection of accessories and attachments for all kinds of specialist sewing techniques like the even food foot that quilt makers use.
Accessories included are instruction book, spare bobbins, extra needles, thread discs, zig-zag foot, zipper foot, button sewing-on foot, seam ripper and lint cleaning brush. Feed cover plate and a soft dust cover.
